Glendale is a large city in the western part of the Phoenix metro area known for its sports venues, entertainment districts, historic downtown, and mix of suburban and urban energy. Glendale has a more diverse and event-driven atmosphere than many other Phoenix suburbs and is often associated with major concerts, professional sports, and nightlife around its entertainment areas. Originally founded in the late 1800s as an agricultural community, Glendale grew into one of Arizona’s major cities while still preserving parts of its historic character.
